Thank You for making the connection of great respect, love, empathy from me and many others to 399 Mama Grizzly - feeling how precious & wise she is - sending love, concern, support for her cub spirit - knowing her & Spirit more as the amazing individuals they are - feeling the sorrow for her death. Thank you for everything you did for us to Honor Mama Grizzly & her cub Spirit together.

You're welcome, Carolyn. I'm so glad this resonated and spoke to you. It is deeply sad. I've been thinking about her cub Spirit and all of our wild neighbors who have lost family members to highways and roads since I read the news. I agree, it is so important to honor their individual lives. 💚

Thank you for your writing. It is most heartbreaking to read this tragic end to 399 Mama Griz. I cry at the letter from the cub. I am sending blessings to cub and hope that she will make it. We definitely need WILDLIFE CROSSINGS and can’t imagine that there aren’t many in Yellowstone. The parks should be for the animals & wildlife first, people at a distant second. I would like to see more education or some at least as don’t think there is any education on wildlife in the schools starting in preschool & kindergarten. What kind of education are we really giving our children? Does it speak to life, nature from whence we come or rather only subjects that detach one from the real world. History, mathematics, and just about every subject can be taught with a nature. Focus. To me it has needed to be revamped for 50 years. It would be so much more engaging and offer so much more for living life in the world and appreciating what other species have to offer and what we can learn from them.

I completely agree. We humans need ecological literacy. If we could encourage childrens' innate love for the natural world and foster loving stewardship from there, we and our wild kin would be in a much better place.

So much love for this writing- thank you for sharing the link about the animal crossings- it has been such a huge thing in my mind this last month driving to Washington and even just my own towns-

I’m going to get them in Yosemite- it’s so important.

Big hugs 🤗

Big hugs to you, too, Margina. Anything I can do to support more crossings in Yosemite, please let me know. Maybe it can be a project for our Writing For The Wild groups. I appreciate all you do and share. 💚
