Spring Offerings
Invitations to write in community, learn your land, listen, and explore...
Spring is here in the Northern Hemisphere. The ground is thawing and so am I. Work is also quickening after some winter and post-pandemic sludge and with longer days and newfound inspiration, I’m trying to find balance between teaching, organizing, facilitating, and being in the uninterrupted creative dreamspace of my new book. A dance I will never master but stumble through as I go.
I’m excited about my new book. I just got a ‘thumbs up’ from my editor after reading my initial draft and the message “to keep doing what I’m doing.” So after a couple of months off, the book and I are getting reacquainted and I’m diving back in. It will be published in summer 2024 with Penguin Life. I’ll share more about it soon.
In the meantime, here are some offerings on the horizon. You’re invited to join me:
ONLINE WRITING COURSE:
SPRING SESSION OF REWILDING THROUGH WRITING starts in two weeks
This in an intimate online space where everyone has a chance to share. When discussing why we are compelled to write, this is what my students in the winter session had to say:
“We write to release trauma, heal, help others, examine and release harmful conditioning, make sense of the world, uncover truth, find meaning, reveal the Self, remember, mark time, tell stories, find community, share experiences, honor and communicate with loved ones, slow down, find our own rhythm, play, explore, imagine, tell the truth, overcome self doubt, make peace with our bodies, fall in love, come home to ourselves.”
Join me for 5 live online classes, Thursdays from 2pm-4pm EST starting April 6th. You can use the code WOLVESANDWEEDS for a special Substack discount.
ONLINE: MEDICINAL PLANT WALKS, starting April 8th
These live online ‘walks’ are free for Weeds, Wolves & Wild Women supporters at the $50+ level. I use a slideshow presentation as I share and leave time for Q&A at the end.
CONFERENCE AT HARVARD DIVINITY SCHOOL, April 26th-29th
I’m presenting a talk on endangered medicinal plants at the Harvard Program For The Evolution of Spirituality in April. Here’s a link to the abstract from last year’s talk. I wrote an article about the talk that will be published in the April issue of the Harvard Divinity Bulletin.
INTERNATIONAL HERB SYMPOSIUM in Norton MA, June 9th-11th
This is an incredible conference for herbalists and herb-curious. I’ll be there signing books on Friday night. Use the code SPRING15 for a 15% discount through Monday.
HERBAL APPRENTICESHIP AND PROJECTS AT MOUNT OWEN FOREST SANCTUARY
This apprenticeship is now full but thought I’d let you know about it in case you're interested in future experiences. If you’d like to get on the waiting list, let me know. Tax-deductible donations for the botanical sanctuary and land restoration at Mount Owen Forest Sanctuary can be made via United Plant Savers. You’ll find more info on our website. We would be so grateful for any support.
Lastly, I was on a podcast and it was a great conversation. You can listen here.
I’ll be writing my next plant profile soon so if there is something you’d like me to cover, let me know in the comments and I’ll do my best to get it at some point, maybe even next week! 🌱 Thank you so much for reading and being part of this community.
thank you for this wonderful space.
once we accept nature as mentor, gratitude tempers greed, and the notion of resources becomes obscene.
